CLINIQUE Girls.Night.Out

For those of you who don’t know Team VIBE!… we love to entertain, get all dressed up and most of all, have tons of fun.  When we found out about a competition Clinique was holding (who can host the best Clinique party) we were incredibly excited about it, as this is what we do best J

In true Team VIBE! style – Go big, or go home!  We decided to record a track and put together a little something for the Clinique Crew.

Matt very kindly offered to assist us with the recording at Sound & Motion Studios (my 2nd home).
We started out with some pre-production at the Naughties Mansion – laying done some guitar, vocals and piano.  Seeing what works and getting some practice in J

Time to hit the studio!!
We mic'd up Agatha (our baby grand piano) at Sound & Motion, with Jen laying down the piano tracks, after which Lou knocked out her guitar like a human metronome.
Finishing off with the vocals and vocal harmonies.

Matt was then left to mix the track and make it sound all pretty J You rock Matski!

The idea was to show Clinique just how much fun girls can have (not very hard with this bunch of girls).
Pretty cupcakes (Lol you should you go into business - incredible!), champers and Clinique products all in place and ready to get the girls set for a night out.

The girls arrived, and an epic evening of fun awaited us.
From indulging in our Clinique gift packs, sabrage, delicious eats and bubbles, and probably the most fun of the evening - the photobooth!
We setup a photo booth so everyone could take pics as and when they wanted to – lots of props to make the evening that much more entertaining. Jenna "Trigger-Happy" Bird was of course also armed with the camera, hehe.

We put together a little video of pics with our chick anthem. Check out!
Hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it!

Never miss a beat

Cape Town is an incredible place to live, especially when it comes to social outings. Never a dull moment in this awesome City. I’ve been a very lucky girl over the past year – so many awesome gigs!!!!!  From rad SA bands to top international acts.

I was lucky enough to get tickets to U2 (thanks Mom). What an amazing experience! Can’t believe at that age how they rock out! IMPRESSIVE!  We took full advantage of this opportunity and hopped onto the train from Rondebosch to Town, did the fan walk and represented Team VIBE (of course)!

Team VIBE!

Last Wednesday we were fully prepared to lose our voices at the Roxette concert at Grand West. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a concert where everyone can sing along to just about every song.
Absolutely incredible!! HOW DO YOU DO….

I have been to watch many many SA gigs, but here are some of my highlights over the last year:

Symphonic Rocks – awesome SA bands such as Just Jinjer, Flat Stanley, Louise Carver, Watershed, Gang of Instrumentals, aKing etc, playing alongside a 65 piece Symphony Orchestra. Well done to Andy Mac for putting together such an incredible show! Looking forward to many more!!

Flat Stanley

MyLife Organisation Benefit – Plush, Ard Matthews, Louise Day and many more rad bands – this was guaranteed to be an amazing evening!  Nice one peeps J

Louise Day

Carl, Rory, Nate, Ard, Lou, Jen & Lol

Isochronous – one of my new favourite SA bands.  We have been lucky enough to work these amazingly talented guys at Sound & Motion, www.soundandmotion.co.za
If you haven’t heard of these guys, do yourself a favour and go listen to some of their stuff on Youtube or Facebook.

Rocking the Daisies – one of the raddest music festivals Cape Town has to offer. Extremely well organized, loads of fun, great music (including GoodLuck, who have grown tremendousness over the past year - Well done Ben & Jules). Just awesome!  Last year we rocked out at Camp Legend – need I say more J
Get yourself tickets for this year – going to be epic.

I went to Carols by Candlelight for the 1st time last year, at Kirstenbosch Gardens. Always a lovely vibe there.  I will be back this year for both the Summer Concerts and Carols by Candelight :)
